Yvonne Surrey is a certified instructor/facilitator, time management and productivity expert, and professional organizer, serving the five boroughs of New York City and Long Island. She began her business in 1996 after working for banking and investment companies such as U.S. Trust, Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse, where her organization and time management skills were honed. She was also one of two secretaries for eleven Federal Defense Lawyers for the Legal Aid Society, who of course needed everything yesterday.
She uses her skills to help small businesses, home office professionals and individuals clear the clutter, streamline processes, create workflow systems, set-up workable filing systems, and develop procedures that can help increase productivity, reduce stress, and allow them to maintain control over their time, life and space.
The skills Yvonne developed and mastered for over 25 years as a secretary, administrative assistant, coordinator of events, supervisor, office manager, and general manager, has prepared her for her role as a professional organizer, time managment and productivity expert.
She teaches organization, time management and communication skills at Medgar Evers College/Adult & Continuing Education and Hostos Community College/Adult & Continuing Education. Yvonne served as co-editor for the NAPO NY chapter's newsletter for one year and wrote a column - Organizing Solutions - for over a year, for the Brooklyn Daily Eagle newspaper. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO), National Association for Female Executives, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, and the Brooklyn Public Library Business Library's Success Council.
Yvonne is also a Quantum Leap Trainer. Quantum Leap is a Community Service Program of the National Association of Professional Organizers. The program is designed to help those less fortunate and in life transitions with organizing training programs. The program is provided for many agencies throughout the US including homeless shelters, pregnancy centers and community resource centers, and others.
Yvonne has been interviewed by Ebony Magazine, NY1 News, Woman's Day Magazine on BlogTalkRadio and RED magazine. She was featured in the Brooklyn Progress newspaper and quoted in the Staten Island newspaper.
